The Quesnel Ambassador Leadership Program is designed to help give the youth in our community the skills and confidence to achieve their goals while representing Quesnel in a positive manner.

Program at a Glance
Quesnel established a community program for young women in 1956. This gave our women a chance to learn communication skills and build confidence as they moved into their future. Through the years there have been many alterations, to reflect our changing society. Our new philosophy is to embrace all youth regardless of their gender.
Quesnel candidates and ambassadors take part in many local events throughout the year. They also represent our city out of town. Activities include many non-profit fundraising occasions for various charities, as well as public appearances at celebrations and award nights. There are almost always a few royalty or candidates providing a helping hand in the community.
The primary goal of the self-development program is to build leadership skills, and improve public speaking skills, while becoming more active in Quesnel’s festivals and events. During the 6 month program candidates write and perform expressive speeches, learn financial management, are given lessons and opportunities to demonstrate appropriate social etiquette, and become immersed in many volunteer opportunities. Lifetime friendships are made in this program as they connect through common interests in the community.
The candidates emerge from the program feeling armed with skills to employ in job interviews, or volunteer with sports and charities, where they need to present an opinion, or discuss a solution with grace and dignity.
The Quesnel Self-Development Program is proud to play a role in the development of our future leaders. Many past royalty now play a valuable role in the society, and continue to be role models for the following years’ candidates.

The Quesnel Ambassador Program has strong ties to the community and continues to be an iconic program within the city that promotes confident young men and women, various local events, and the City of Quesnel.
Volunteer Opportunities
Within our program, our goal is to promote the City of Quesnel by volunteering for those who need a few extra hands! We help out in any way that we can.
